How do I find my garage door opener’s brand and model?
Look for the label on the motor unit, usually on the side or back of the housing on the ceiling or wall. The brand is often on the light cover too.
Can you repair an older opener from a brand that’s no longer common?
Often, yes, if parts are still available. If an older opener can’t be repaired or has no photo-eye safety sensors, we’ll recommend a replacement.
Do I have to replace my door with the same brand?
No. When replacing a whole door, you can choose any brand that fits your opening, your HOA’s rules and your address’s wind rating. Replacing a single panel does require a matching section from the original maker.
Can you set up smart control on my opener?
On many newer LiftMaster and Chamberlain openers, myQ is built in, and newer Genie openers support Aladdin Connect. Older openers can sometimes add a smart hub, or we can install a new smart-ready opener.
